Hiroshige
- Carp Ascending a Waterfall

Giclee reprint of the  original by Utagawa Hiroshige, ca. 1847-52, presented in contemporary framing.

Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858) was a Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print artist who reshaped the tradition of landscape art. While many of his contemporaries focused on portraits of actors and courtesans, Hiroshige dedicated his career to capturing the landscapes, weather conditions, and daily activities of Edo-period Japan. He is recognized for his series The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō and One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, which document travel routes and urban life through changing seasons, rain, and snow. His compositional techniques, characterized by bold framing and a distinct palette featuring Prussian blue, left a documented impact on European painters, including Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, who collected and copied his prints.
