Cranes (after Korin)

Giclee print of artistic reinterpretation of original artwork Flock of Cranes by Ogata Korin from the early 18th century.

Ogata Kōrin (1658 – 1716) was a visionary Japanese painter, lacquer artist, and textile designer during the Edo period. He is celebrated as one of the ultimate masters of the Rinpa school, a highly influential decorative art movement characterized by vibrant colors, gold backgrounds, and bold, abstracted compositions inspired by classical literature and nature. In fact, the term "Rinpa" (coined centuries later) literally translates to the "School of Kōrin" in honor of his immense contribution to consolidating and reviving the style.
